Mori
Local tradition, produce and wines between Rovereto and Garda
Pre-historical traces, ancient monuments and the production of quality wines. First documented in 845, Mori is a farming, industrial, trade and crafts centre. It is also an important crossroads between the exit at ‘Rovereto sud' off the A22 Brenner highway, the city of Rovereto and the roads that lead to the Brentonico plateau, Polsa, San Valentino and towards Lake Garda.
Among the monuments worth seeing is the Romanesque parish church of Santo Stefano and, in the historical town centre, Piazza Maggiore with the 15th century rectory and the 18th century Palazzo Salvadori. Mori features high-class country mansions, the theatre built in 1791 and the ancient district. In the areas around the town it is possible to visit several pre-historical excavations. A pleasant excursion is that to the Monte Albano Sanctuary along a typical muletrack.
The tastings of locally produced wines include Merlot, Marzemino, Casteler and Cabernet varieties.
