Not the usual Trentino

When the Mediterranean nestles within the mountains

From the panoramic terrace, which delights the descent from Nago towards Torbole, Lago di Garda fades into the horizon and seems as vast as the sea. Olive and lemon trees, oleanders, there are even a few caper plants on the dry stone walls.

A slice of the Mediterranean amidst Alpine scenery. It seems like an illusion, but Garda Trentino has never been more real. In autumn, windsurfers still whizz over the waves of the Ora, the villages are calmer but still active, the farmers shake out the olives for the harvest.

Indeed, Garda Trentino is the northernmost place in the world where extra virgin olive oil is produced. The local mills make an extra virgin olive oil, which is excellent on the table when served with carne salada, Broccolo di Torbole, a Slow Food presidium, or lake fish. Local products will be your best guide to getting to know this part of Lago di Garda in restaurants, at festivals and at the many taste events organised in autumn!

To the delight of our palates

The month of taste lasts more than a month! From the end of September until the first half of November, you can get to know freshwater fish, maroni (chestnuts), cheeses, vegetables from the Val di Gresta, the vegetable garden of Trentino. And extra virgin olive oil in mills open to the public!

In the olive garden

If you walk the Sentiero dell'Olivo in the olive grove of Arco in November, you will come across farmers busy harvesting their olives. This olive grove, which is a treasure trove of precious fruits and glimpses of the Castello di Arco, is thes setting of pleasant walks even in autumn.

A table for when?

Would you like a table with a view of Italy's largest lake? A spot among olive trees and vegetable gardens? You could also reserve a table for lunch in a village. Timeless, but immersed in flavours. Mediterranean and Alpine flavours, which go well together in Garda Trentino.

Small, but immense

The beautiful villages of Garda Trentino are among the Borghi più belli d’Italia. Then there are others, which do not have this title, but will surprise you just the same. Like Balbido, where you get lost in a chimney sweep's dream or in Nonna’s fairy tales.
