Amongst other sports, you can do climbing thanks to the presence of well equipped cliffs, and plan easy excursions or more demanding treks. Valle del Chiese is littered with castles and ancient rural villages, and extends up to Lake Idro, a popular destination for budding sailors, canoeists and windsurfers. From Valle del Chiese you can get to the Adamello Brenta Nature Park through Val di Breguzzo, Val di Daone and Val di Fumo.
The streams and lakes of the Giudicarie valleys and of Valle del Chiese are perfect for fishing, being rich in trout, whitefish andarctic chars-fish which you can also try in one of the many restaurants in the area, with other genuine and savoury dishes. Of the other classic mountain products, don’t forgot trying the mountain dairy cheeses, the mushrooms, better if accompanied with the praised polenta from Storo, made with the fine corn which is grown and harvested locally.
From Valle del Chiese and the Giudicarie valleys you can easily get to Val Rendena, Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio. In winter these valley sallow you to spend your holiday in a serene place and enjoy the vast and well-equipped ski areas in the Brenta Dolomites.
Much closer, in Bolbeno, near Tione, on the slopes covered with artificial snow, kids’ skiing courses are held every winter: Bolbenolandia is a very popular winter playground for kids to learn how to ski whilst having fun.
Alpine skiing and snowshoeing excursions, even accompanied by local Alpine guides, are your opportunities to discover the wonder of nature during winter in the Giudicarie valleys.
