Laghi di S. Giuliano e Garzonè
Walking through blueberry bushes and rhododendrons to the enchanting glacial depression that hosts Lakes San Giuliano and Garzonè.
Located at 1,940 m a.s.l., among the peaks of Corno Alto, Spadalone, La Cingla and La Costaccia, are light-blue Lakes San Giuliano and Garzonè. Surrounded by a large pine forest, they offer spectacular views onto Val di Genova. They can be reached from trail # 221, which can be joined after a car drive to Pozza delle Vacche, at 1,485 m a.s.l. Past San Giuliano Alpine farmhouse, in an area thick with blueberry, mountain cranberry and rhododendron bushes, hikers can reach the enchanting glacial depression which hosts the two lakes, one next to the other. The area is covered with meadows, that alternate with scattered rocks and glacial moraine stones.
