Museo Casa Marascalchi
The museum presents all of the parts of a large rural house in the Valle del Chiese
Learn all about the rural life of a 20th century Cimego family in this museum in the historic Quartinago district.
Within the age-old walls of Casa Marascalchi, you can discover the rural past of the Valle del Chiese. Inside the house are items of furniture and other objects that were once used by the Marascalchi family, who emigrated from Giudicarie in 1962. In the basement is a wine cellar, a larder and a stable.
On the ground floor you will find a kitchen with an old fireplace, as well as a joinery workshop and all of the tools and implements needed for the upkeep of the home. As well as the bedrooms, on the first floor there is also a room that was used for rearing silkworms and weaving. On the second floor is a large open space where a pulley was once used to hoist firewood, faggots, hay, straw and grain. Finally, the attic used to serve as a storage space.
