Vignola Falesina
A tiny village on the doorstep of the Eastern Alps
Vignola Falesina is one of the smallest villages of the Trentino region and is located at almost 1,000 m above sea level. Dotted with characteristic traditional Alpine farmhouses, it is perched on the slopes of Monte Orno, on the Eastern doorstep of one of the largest, most striking and less well known mountain ranges of this side of the Alps: the Lagorai-Cima d'Asta Range.
Just a few kilometres away from Levico Terme and Lake Caldonazzo, this traditional mountain village takes visitors back to the peaceful atmospheres of bygone days, when stress and anxiety were still unknown. Tourists to the area can enjoy the same mountain air that the Canòpi - miners of German origin - breathed when worked in the fluorite, quartz and silver mines.
The Austrian-Hungarian front line passed through this area during the First World War, as proved by the relics of the guarding works they constructed, which are scattered throughout the mountain range.
