Dambel
A dynamic and adventurous holiday in the River Park of Novella
Dambel is located on a saddle between the gullies of the two left feeders of the Novella, in the Upper Val di Non. Guided tours take visitors from the town's square to the fully equipped Parco Fluviale Novella canyon, where they can admire both its cultivated fields and its wilder landscape stretching along the gorges. Just like the Cloz and Romallo canyons the Dambel canyon area is endowed with unique naturalistic and geological features.
The parish church of the Assumption lies on the Doss dei Sadorni. According to the local tradition, it was built on a sacred temple dedicated to Saturn. The church was completely rebuilt in 1537 and enjoys a beautiful view over the Third Bank of Lake Santa Giustina. On a hill in Saori, also known as Villa di Dambel, visitors can admire the chapel of the Addolorata (built in the 17th century), where a number of Roman tombs have been discovered complete with their furnishings.
The town also features an interesting petting zoo, which gives children the chance to discover countrylife together with their own family, other kids, and the farmer.
