Castel Valer is a medieval castle of Roman origin, rebuilt between the 13th and 16th centuries. It is located in Val di Non - Trentino, at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, among beautiful apple orchards. Since 1438 the castle is owned by the family Spaur and is now mainly used as a location for events.
Castel Valer consists of 88 halls and rooms fully furnished with antique furniture, 2 chapels, 3 different terraces and gardens and is surrounded about 10 hectares of land.
Different environments such as rooms, meeting rooms, terraces, gardens and cellars can be used individually or in combination, for various events.
THE OPENING
During the past two years, the media initially presented the willingness to sell the castle. The castle was on the market for a few months, until Count Ulrico Spaur had made up his mind to not sell it. This was out of fear that a new buyer would change the original identity of the castle, which is so well-connected with local associations and communities due to its cultural promotion and extraordinary openings to the public.
The Count’ s decision to keep the castle has been obtained thanks to collaborative efforts with APT Val di Non, maintaining their healthy relationship.
Included in the visit is the Chapel of Saint Valerio, the Horse Room, the bridge, the courtyard and gardens, the cellar, the Emblems Room, the Gothic Room and the study rooms nearby, the Loggia and Loggiato, as well as Madruzzo’s rooms. Planned are 6 daily visits, with 2 guides that will collect visitors at the ticket office in the Pilati’s piazza, town of Tassullo.
