Val Nana
Val Nana - a natural amphitheatre endowed with an enchanting landscape as well as a standpoint to observe geological phenomena.
Huge Val Nana mountain pasture is five km long and one km wide, making it one of the most spectacular places in the Tovel area. Located between 2,100 m and 2,400 m a.s.l., the area is renowned for its enchanting landscape and unique geological features, such as its natural amphitheatre which got shaped by glaciers disappeared 12,000 years ago. The Pian della Nana is also an ideal standpoint to observe geological phenomena.
Visitors to Val Nana can reach the valley on foot following a two and a half hour walk. To reach the valley, just take the path from the parking-lot near Peller mountain-hut. Visitors are invited to admire the small Church of the Virgin of the Snows while making their way along the trail, before reaching Malga Cles or Clesera. The path then keeps climbing up through larches and clearings, and finally reaches Lake Salare. The trail to Val Nana is located after the spring at 2,085 m.
