Brez - Novella
Brez, an age-old town for contemporary vacations
Stretching out fan-like on a morainal terrace and featuring panoramic views on nearby Valle della Novella and Parco Fluviale, Brez is located in an area known as the Terza Sponda. Surrounded by an aura of mystery, the landscape in this part of the Val di Non looks rougher, more impervious, and scattered with thick age-old woods.
Just like everywhere else in the Trentino region, Brez is made up of several hamlets. Rivo, for example, features the rural-noble architecture of the Val di Non valley. The Monumento al Minatore (Monument to the Miner) is located in its square, together with several noteworthy buildings, including Casa De Avancini, with its corner turret and sundial dating back to 1697, and Casa Ruffini, with its portal and family crest. The Gothic church of S. Floriano (13th century) is located on the hill between Brez and Arisio, and was rebuilt 1517. Arsio is a tiny hamlet showcasing a couple of beautiful noble palaces from the 16th century, Casa Corazza and Castel S. Giovanni (17th century).
Tourists to Brez can enjoy pleasant walks, canyoning and visits to the Parco Fluviale Novella (with guided and fully equipped tours to explore hidden canyons) as well as the opportunity to play sports and take part in valley feasts.
