Network of Nature Reserves - Val di Fiemme destra Avisio
The green heart of Val di Fiemme
- Passo Lavazè, mountain huts, lakes, and the Dolomites’ towering peaks
- Palù Longa, a walk out of time
- Fiemme-Cavalese waterfall: rejuvenation between water and beech forests
Climbing upstream the Avisio river, with the great Dolomites on one side and the severe slopes of the Lagorai range on the other, we find the Val di Fiemme Reserve Network, a patchwork of different natural environments, each with its own charm.
Peat bogs, arid basalt hills, river and forest ecosystems, and lofty stone pine forests. A wide variety of environments for a rich protected biodiversity, inside the 25 protected areas included in the Reserve Network. A natural environment to be discovered, and an exceptional destination for image "hunters". Paths, cycling tracks and comfortable forest roads make it possible to easily reach and appreciate the mysterious atmospheres of peat bogs, wet and ancient environments typical of cold areas, like that in Lavazè, as well as the severe beauty of the old forests of spruce trees - around here as high as 50 metres - managed for centuries by the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme. In Val di Fiemme, the reserves can be considered places of particular charm and importance in a context that has the natural features of a real park, with breathtaking vistas, large forests and a rich fauna, resulting in a unique naturalistic experience, full of inspiration, curiosity, and secrets to be discovered.
