Ancient peat bogs, almost forgotten landscapes that are home to species so rare they are almost impossible to find elsewhere. Unexpected waters in old larch forests, picturesque swamps and, at the bottom of Valley, the impetuous Avisio river. Intact and wild corners of nature, combined with warm hospitality.
In order to understand Val di Cembra it is necessary to leave the main road that follows its entire length, and head along the wooded mountainsides. Numerous and well marked roads and paths invite you to immerse yourself in nature, to get a feel for the history, traditions, crafts and ways of life of the people of these valleys, which shaped the countryside over the centuries, partially domesticating it.
It is not uncommon to encounter an old mill or some other stone structure that was previously used for everyday activities linked with the forest. Chestnut forests down below, beech forests further up and, even higher up, impressive larches and spruces. On the steep slopes of the valley, terraced vineyards produce the golden elixir known as Müller Thurgau.
Val di Cembra is the right place to find unique corners and to breathe the atmosphere of a place where time has stood still. Ideal for a visit, especially in Autumn, when the forests are aflame with colours.
