Carisolo
Cross-country skiing or trekking, Carisolo offers an all-sporty vacation
The last village of the Val Rendena valley, Carisolo is located inside the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. The cross-country track links Carisolo to Pinzolo, Giustino and Caderzone. In the evening the lighted track makes for a fascinating skiing experience. Downhill skiing can be practised on the slopes of Dos del Sabion in nearby Pinzolo, as well as in the fantastic Madonna di Campiglio Folgarida-Marilleva ski area, 15 km further on.
The parish church dedicated to San Nicola and the tiny church of Santo Stefano, frescoed by Simone de Baschenis, standing on a sheer rock over the Sarca river at the entrance to the wild Val di Genova, are both worth visiting. Another small jewel, up high on the slope of Mount Lancia, is the little white church of San Martino, a Medieval hermitage.
Carisolo hosts the Surgiva mineral water plant, a technologically state-of-the-art facility.
