Montalbano is the ideal place for rock-climbing in all seasons - except when the wall is wet. It faces south and overlooks the lower Vallagarina. At the foot of this famous aided route - this fixed rope route is considered one of the most challenging routes in the entire Alpine area and is quite evocative, what with its surrounding environment and variety of routes available - besides the fixed rope routes, masses and blocks offer more than 150 climbing opportunities among routes and splits and boulder passages. They are suitable for brief enduring sprints on solid rock. The area is divided into 7 sections including 32 routes, whose grading difficulty ranges from 5c to 8a+. It is advisable to use 50 m ropes.
Montalbano can be reached from Mori only on foot. There are several small roads leading up to the Sanctuary of Montalbano, and it takes about 15 minutes to get there.
