The route of the nativity scenes
Itinerary to discover Soraga's handcrafted cribs, set up in the seven historical districts of "Palua", "Roìsc", "Sala", "Gherghele", "Molin", "Sester" and "Barbida"
Every year during the Christmas holidays it's possible to visit the cribs "Doi varesc anter le cripele" made with dedication and imagination by private citizens and local associations. The 50 nativity scenes are displayed in the most picturesque corners of the village, starting from the central square. There, under the majestic tree, in the hut, one can admire the wooden statues hand-carved by some Soraga artisans. The route then continues through the narrow streets of the seven historical masi, discovering the characteristic districts of "Palua", "Roìsc", "Sala", "Gherghele", "Molin", "Sester" and "Barbida". The best time to visit them is around sunset, when the lights are switched on. At the end of the walk, a stop is a must at the markets set up in front of the church, where you can warm yourself up with a good mulled wine in front of the small crackling fires.
The map of the cribs is available by the tourist offices.
