Val di Cembra: identity and landscape

Explore villages and nature at a slow pace in spring

Val di Cembra is made up of sun-kissed slopes, dry stone walls dividing the vineyards, tall grasses and dark pines, porphyry red and small villages perched on top of the hills. And ponds in the middle of the woods, the Lago Santo (Holy Lake), the lake of Lases, the ancient peaty lakes.

The Val di Cembra was once a poor land, and the dry stone walls bear witness to the efforts of clearing difficult, sloping lands. Now the vine thrives on these hills, and indeed, there are many wineries that produce excellent wines, precisely because the grapes ripen at high altitude: Nosiola, Müller Thurgau, Chardonnay, Pinot grigio. It's the region of great white wines and Trentodoc sparkling wines.

We offer you a slow journey through these lands via lengthy walks, where you can take breaks to enjoy gourmet moments, discovering the tastes and wines of this valley.

The Path of the Suspended Lands

The path starts and arrives at Lavis, following a ring along the two banks of the Val di Cembra and touching the Valfloriana. This route, stretching 90 km and divided into 6 stages, explores the genuine identity of the valley, amidst vertical vineyards, historic connecting routes, hanging villages, ancient farmsteads, and woods.

The ancient lakes trek

Here is another long path, three days of walking. Here the exploration becomes more naturalistic, you enter the woods, on less frequented trails, you can see damp meadows, bodies of water and a rich marsh vegetation, which allows you to learn how a peat bog comes to be. During the spring, the white tufts of the cotton grass bloom, and it is very easy to admire various types of amphibian species.
