Passo Tonale
Tonale, a major Trentino-Lumbardy region ski area, offers a long, snow-covered winter sport season
On Tonale Pass, which is located at the foot of the Presena Glacier (3,000 m.), you can ski from late Autumn to late Spring. It features 30 modern state-of-the-art ski facilities for a total of 100 Km of ski runs, including the nera Paradiso, one of the longest and most exciting downhill runs in the whole Alpine area. The ski area stretches even further thanks to the connection of the Tonale facilities to the Ponte di Legno -Temù facilities in the Lumbardy region.
Tonale features numerous accommodation options and services. It also hosts the Mountain Tourism Professions Training Centre founded by the Autonomous Province of Trento and has become one of the favourite training camps for downhill and cross-country ski champions. The cross-country runs extend over 5 kilometres along the sunniest side of the Pass.
Many groups of young athletes and sport lovers come to Tonale during the exceptionally long winter sport season, stretched even further by Tonale's artificial snow programme.
