Fiavè
On the Lomaso plateau, vacations embracing both nature and history
Archaeology-enthusiasts would find Fiavè of particular interest. Born of the convergence of three medieval hamlets, Sabadini, Piazza and Sotratori, the town is located on the moranial plateau of Lomaso. Here, visitors can admire the structure of its lake-dwellings which date back to 2300 BC as well as many elements bearing witness to life at the time (free during the summer months).
A "biotope" - that is, an area recognised for its high bio-ecological and naturalistic value - with a lake for recreational fishing has been founded at Torbiera di Fiavè, just a short distance from the town. Excursions, hiking, curling and tennis can also be enjoyed here.
Special mention must be made of the small, traditional hamlet of Stumiaga, the "Camerona", an enormous cave overlooking the town of Ballino, and Castel Campo with its 15th century chapel and medieval courtyard complete with a 15th century loggia.
Fiavè is also renowned for its prized dairy products.
