Castelnuovo
At the foot of Monte Civerone, where a castle used to be
Castelnuovo is located on the Valsugana national road at the foot of Monte Civerone, where the Maso and Brenta Rivers meet. Although agriculture still plays an important role in the area - as proved by the numerous fruit orchards and vineyards dotted on the sides of the bike-path running South of Castelnuovo - the town became a flourishing industrial centre after the Second World War.
Tourists are invited to visit the small church of Santa Margherita overlooking the Valsugana - from where a lovely view can be enjoyed - Villa De Bellat with its nearby farm and Villa Cappelletti.
Horseback riding can also be enjoyed at the Mascalcia Riding Centre, with its stables and riding school, as well as on the Eastern section of the Trentino horseback riding trail.
