Lighting the second Advent candle
In accordance with tradition, the second candle of the Advent wreath is lit in the square in Canazei, a moment full of atmosphere accompanied by gospel and spiritual melodies by Parma Brass
Advent, as much loved by children as by adults, is one of the best times to immerse oneself in the traditions, lights and scents of Val di Fassa, at the gates of winter. To make everything even more special, the picturesque markets of Campitello, Vigo, Soraga and Moena. The second Advent candle, known as "of Bethlehem" in the Christian rite, will be lit on Saturday, 7 December at 5.30 p.m. in the main square of Canazei. Immediately afterwards, the atmosphere will be enlivened with the notes of Parma Brass.
The repertoire of the brass and percussion quintet alternates famous gospel and spiritual melodies with original arrangements that create a unique and evocative sound, enriched by the splendid voices of Elena Giardina and Fabrizio Ceste. From the classic Silent Night to Oh Happy Day, the leitmotif is always Christmas, but there are also forays into pop and musicals, with songs from Sister Act, and the great Burt Bacharach repertoire.
Free of charge event. There will be a refreshment point with hot drinks.
