Christmas concert by the Ensemble Canticum Novum
Exciting a cappella concert, where Christmas melodies and sacred songs will resound through the aisles of the San Vigilio parish church
"Canticum Novum" is a mixed a cappella choir from Moena, founded in 1993 and directed by Maestro Ilario Defrancesco. Composed of 32 elements coming from the Fiemme and Fassa valleys, the choir has more than 300 concerts, with numerous national and international performances. In recent years, the ensemble has enriched its sacred repertoire with ethnic songs, exploring sounds typical of European, African and even overseas traditions. Particular attention is paid to indigenous pieces, in particular those written by Moenese composer Luigi Canori, Father Frumenzio Ghetta and Stefano Dell'Antonio "Monech", together with unreleased contemporary pieces in Ladin, some of which set to music by the conductor Ilario Defrancesco himself.
