Autumn in Val di Non means apple, it is the period in which the fruits of many months of care, dedication and work in the meadows are harvested. Live the experience of harvesting apples from the tree up close: you will also feel like a real farmer!
Picking apples from the tree is an experience that really appeals to everyone. For this reason, do not miss the "MelaColgo" initiative, a fun, unique and fulfilling experience lived outdoors with the farmer, who will introduce you to the world of apples and reveal all its secrets.
When can you join MelaColgo and how does it work?
The famous Val di Non apples ripen at the end of summer and the harvest revolves around the months of September and October based on the variety of apple. The first apples to be harvested are the Gala and in the lower part of the valley and with this variety it begins as early as the end of August. The last ones, on the other hand, are the Fuji that finish collecting them in mid-October. The farmers of the Agritur Ambassadors of Melinda are available to explain the important rules for a perfect harvest: just a few minutes of practice, the explanation of the right harvesting technique and you too will be ready to become a farmer! You can immediately bite into an apple and feel the unmistakable "scrunch" under your teeth. With the other apples you will fill your small box and you can take the apples home with you. Placed in a cool and dark place, they will be kept for several days and the day you bite into them, or let your friends taste them, you can tell them that you have collected them yourself!
