The magical Christmas parade
Experience with us the magic of Christmas in Moena, parading through the village streets with Father Christmas and his many friends, amidst traditions and fairytale atmospheres
During the festive season, the centre of Moena transforms into a true Christmas village. Visitors can wander through the charming wooden huts offering a variety of last-minute gift ideas, from textiles and handcrafted items to delicious treats to savour at home. Children’s laughter fills the air in the two squares, where a traditional carousel, a miniature railway, and even Santa’s Elf House await. All of this is complemented by concerts and travelling performances, inspired by Ladin traditions and classic fairy tales.
Moena and its vibrant community celebrate the start of the ski season with a grand parade at 5 p.m., embracing the festive spirit as they welcome guests who have chosen the Fairy of the Dolomites and Val di Fassa for their winter holiday. Leading the parade is Santa Claus himself, joined by his elves and many of Moena's friends, including the "Enrosadira" Choir, ski instructors, the "Scufons", young members of the "Monti Pallidi" sports club, and the athletes of Moena Sport Rhythmic Gymnastics. The event will also mark the arrival of the "Olympic torch" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dolomiti Superski, celebrating the pioneers of the Alpe Lusia/San Pellegrino consortium.
After the parade, a large brazier will be lit in the "Piaz de Sotegrava" square, and the various groups will take to the stage for an official presentation. The festivities will then continue with roaming performances in both squares and along "L Vial" street, all set within the enchanting atmosphere of the Christmas markets. Expect to see itinerant shows, hear traditional mountain songs, and enjoy music from "Bandino di Moena" (a smaller ensemble of the town’s brass band).You can also enjoy the unique opportunity of joining Santa and his elves on a horse-drawn carriage ride through the charming "Turchia" district (a paid service, €3 for adults, €2 for children,starting from "Piaz de Ramon" square at 3 p.m.).
