Canazei-Belvedere
Canazei is located in a beautiful natural basin at the foot of one of the most evocative peaks of the Dolomites
- Panorama skitour, Tour of Sass Becé and Sellaronda
- Freeride experience at Pordoi Pass
- Alpine capital of winter sports, in and off-piste
Canazei-Belvedere ski area is also included by the Panorama Skitour connecting the two ski areas of Buffaure and Ciampac, from Pozza to Sass Pordoi
Its state-of-the-art uphill facilities and the natural beauty of the Fassa Dolomites make Canazei one of the model resorts of the entire Alpine chain. The Canazei-Belvedere ski area offers 21 km of downhill runs of various difficulty, served by artificial snow system. There are 13 uphill facilities, including 5 chairlifts, 2 ski lifts, 4 cable car and 3 cableways. The ski area is directly connected to the Campitello-Col Rodella, Passo Pordoi and Passo Sella ski areas, whose ski-runs and facilities are linked to those of the Val Gardena.
The mountain hut Rifugio Maria definitely offers the best view atop the Dolomites in Trentino: it is an extraordinary belvedere 2,950 m a.s.l. towards the Marmolada, Sassolungo, Ortles, Cevedale, the Grossglockner and the Tyrolean Alps. Past the slopes of the Sass Becé Tour (Canazei-Arabba-Pordoi), you climb up with the cable car to Sass Pordoi. Freeriders can ski downhill along the Forcella Pordoi, Val Lastìes or Val Mezdì. For those who love snowboarding there are plenty of half pipes and jumps down the ski slopes. The Dolomiti Snowpark is always crowded by freestyle acrobats. The facilities include an equipped ski slope for children at the Belvedere (Funpark Enrosadira), hotels, mountain huts and après ski clubs on the slopes, a ski school and kinderland in the town, or even a winter park at the Avisio ski lift with a slope for ski tubes, bobsleds and toboggans (opposite the Watersports Centre Dòlaondes), an ice skating rink in Alba di Canazei and tours on horse-drawn carriages. The ski area also hosts several sports events during the winter.
