Natural viewpoint over Veneto, Lusérn (Luserna, in italian) is the smallest town in the large plateaus in Trentino, but also one of the richest in history and traditions. It is actually called Cimbrian island, as its first language is still Cimbrian, an Old Germanic language, which proves that this area was the location of a settlement between the tenth and thirteenth centuries. Cimbrian culture and language are now preserved by the Kulturinstitut Lusérn, Cimbrian cultural institution.
Lusérn is a real cultural workshop, famous for its rural architecture, including the Haus von Prükk Museum. The Documentation Centre regularly hosts exhibitions and shows. There are many suggestive marks left by the First World War in this area, including Fort Lusérn, Costalta cemetery and Millegrobbe trenches.
The main sporting and entertainment facilities on the highlands can be easily reached from Luserna. This area also provides trekking opportunities across World War I forts path, 17 Nordic Walking routes and many mountain bike tracks.
