Cimego
A place to live in harmony with the natural pace of a farming civilization
A geologically interesting area in the Valle del Chiese valley, Cimego features Ancient Roman inscriptions. Cimego is as peaceful, green and intimate as an oasis. The summer offers a variety of hiking opportunities to altopiano di Boniprati plateau. In winter there are numerous runs and trails for downhill and cross-country skiing.
Definitely worth a visit is the Ethnographic Path of the Caino Stream, an evocative legend-flavoured tour into the farmers' history, which combines narrated tales to notes of naturalistic, scientific and botanic knowledge. Worth mentioning is also the small church of Sant Antonio Abate, built in 1482, and the church of San Martino, built in 1635.
Various traces of the ancient farming civilization can be found, such as the Alpine summer pastures with their farmhouses and the glades where Charcoal burners used to work. The area is featured by the Chiese Ecomuseum.
