KATZ AND POP ART AT THE MART
From 14 May to 18 September, a monograph of one of the most well-known contemporary artists, American Alex Katz, will be held at the Mart. The artist, who is known for his involvement in the Pop Art movement, has expressed himself in different ways through painting, drawing, sculpting, and print. The Alex Katz Vita d’artista exhibition will showcase a core selection of large and extra-large works which will match the museum’s architecture.
His early works are inspired by the American society that was emerging in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Born in 1927, he seized upon and recreated new pop culture references, allowing television, cinema and advertising to take centre stage in his research.
THE COLOURS OF THE REPUBLIC OF VENICE
For the upcoming summer season, Castello del Buonconsiglio are preparing for a very exciting exhibition. From 2 July - 23 October, brilliant colours, inventions and marvellous stories of the magnificent 18 century Republic of Venice will light up the halls of the Magno Palazzo dei Principi Vescovi di Trento.
Seventy works (many of which are very large in size) will be showcased in Trento from European and American museums and collections. These paintings once adorned palaces and churches of valleys, however, have been scattered around the world due to wars, family exploits and time.
THE “SOUNDS OF THE DOLOMITES" FESTIVAL, GREAT MUSIC BENEATH THE PEAKS
The 27th edition of the festival will take place between 22 August to 23 September. A month of the best international, classical, and jazz music and cult song concerts will be set in the most charming landscapes of UNESCO World Heritage Site Trentino Alps.
I Suoni delle Dolomiti (“Sounds of the Dolomites”) invite everyone to gain great memories and admire the mountains accompanied by great music. Musicians and attendees will have to climb various paths to reach wide valleys, meadows, clearings, and peaks. In the alps, the sound of instruments will beautifully converse with the surrounding landscaping, interact with the echo and make a sunny day unforgettable.
Performances will run from 22 August until 23 September and will explore the sights and colours as well as the quiet, expectant atmosphere of the mountains unique to this time of year. Experience the mountains and listen to performers par excellence at 16 events taking place during this year’s edition.

BRIAN ENO EVENT IN THE CASTLES OF TRENTINO
A true icon of international contemporary culture, Brian Eno is one of the most important artists of our time. The artist uses a variety of methods to blend music and figurative art, allowing the observer to immerse in veritable “soundscapes”.
Using displays, constantly moving images and loudspeakers, the father of ambient music and precursor to numerous musical genres is creating an interplay of infinite variations of shapes, lights, and sounds.
The artist's work will be on display in the Castello del Buonconsiglio in Trento. He has designated four areas within the castle for his creative project (Giardini Magno Palazzo, Cortile dei Leoni, Logga del Romanino, and Loggia Veneziana), where new audio installations will be integrated. These four site-audio installations will transmit music composed by Brian Eno, based on the spaces in which they are installed. The musical compositions will be ever-changing, offering attendees a continuously unique experience as they go around the castle.
While the Castello del Buonconsiglio will be hosting sound installations, Castel Beseno in the Vallagarina will become home to a unique visual art project involving the creation of two extraordinary, large-scale installations that will be available in the summer.
This artistic project will be on a massive scale, covering the entire surface of the Castel Beseno’s walls and façades. Brian Eno’s most famous visual work - 77 Million Paintings -will be featured.
In this audiovisual installation, Eno’s graphic and pictorial talent is combined with technology: original paintings by the artist are randomly generated and combined 77 million times, with no repetitions. By projecting a combination of continuously evolving paintings, this magnificent project will generate a "light painting".
