Sounds of the Dolomites: Roberto Vecchioni
The "Professor" returns to the Dolomites for a "lesson" in music and life, closing the festival I Suoni delle Dolomiti in Val Duron
Sounds of the Dolomites is a unique event. A music festival at high altitude that brings together musicians from all over the world in the most beautiful mountains of the Alps. The idea behind this initiative is simple: to combine the great passions for music, art and the mountains in a cycle of concerts under the banner of freedom and nature.
Sounds of the Dolomites: Roberto Vecchioni. Micheluzzi Rifugio (Val Duron-Campitello), Sunday 29 September at 2 p.m.
Programme: he’s a singer-songwriter, lyricist, writer and poet, but everyone knows him as "the professor". "Luci a San Siro", "Signor giudice", "Ti insegnerò a volare" (sung with Francesco Guccini), "Samarcanda" and "Voglio una donna" are just a few of the many tracks by Roberto Vecchioni, an institution in the world of Italian song. As well as winning big awards such as the Premio Tenco and taking part in huge events like Sanremo and Festivalbar during a long musical career, he’s always also worked in education and as a writer. He taught Latin and Ancient Greek in secondary schools for more than 30 years and he continues to teach literature, music and communication at university. In addition, he has written novels such as "Le parole non le portano le cicogne" and poems such as those found in the collection entitled "Volevo. Ed erano voli". In this latest appearance at Sounds of the Dolomites, Roberto Vecchioni will be accompanied by Lucio Fabbri on the violin and Massimo Germini on the acoustic guitar. They’ll perform near the Micheluzzi Rifugio in Val Duron. It’s a place that embodies the monumental spirit of the Dolomites, as well as their natural and geological treasures.
