Come Pioggia | Like Rain
Contemporary art works from the creative platform on environmental issues "We Are the Flood" by MUSE - Science Museum of Trento curated by Stefano Cagol
The contemporary art exhibition project Come pioggia | Like rain, carried out in collaboration with MUSE - Trento Science Museum of Trento and born from the museum's platform on environmental issues "We Are the Flood | Noi siamo il diluvio”, can be visited from 11 June to end of October.
It consists of about fifteen contemporary art works, including videos, sculptures and installations, that will talk to us about water resources, from different points of view, to stimulate reflection.
They are artworks by Italian and international artists, both established and emerging ones, recent works, in some cases previously unknown. There are works by American artist Mary Mattingly (USA, 1978), the Turkish-German artist Nezaket Ekici (Turkey, 1970), the young G. Olmo Stuppia (Milan, 1991), by one of Spain's leading artists Eugenio Ampudia (Spain, 1958), by Stefano Caimi (Merate, 1991), by Philipp Messner (Bolzano, 1975), by Saverio Bonato (Schio, 1991), by Elena Lavellés (Spain, 1981), by Giacomo Segantin (Abano Terme, 1995), by Giulia Nelli (Legnano, 1992), by Micol Grazioli (Trento, 1989), by Silvia Listorti (Milan, 1987), by Hannes Egger (Merano, 1981), by Hannah Rowan (Brighton, UK, 1990).
The 'Like Rain' exhibition continues in the project room in the "Sala delle Decime" of the manor house on the ground floor. Here the subtitle is Anthropocene Generation, taking into account that with the term Anthropocene scholars indicate the era of human impact on the planet. In this case, the MUSE and the Belasi Castle involve young artists, and question the role that cultural venues should play in helping to imagine possible tomorrows.
This section of the exhibition focuses on fifteen Italians, aged under 35, including artists and curators, who took part in the We Are the Flood masterclass, held last November at MUSE by New York art historian Julie Riess (US), former director of Christie's Master of Modern and Contemporary Art in New York.
About ten works are exhibited, including a feature film, an installation, works using words, and others experimenting with the use of artificial intelligence, as well as a series of their theoretical texts, already collected within the publication dedicated to the MUSE project from which the exhibition originates, 'We Are the Flood'.
