From Thursday 3 to Saturday 5 April 2025 at the Teatro Sociale di Trento there will be the new and unmissable appointment with the dance programme of the Centro Servizi Culturali S. Chiara, which will have the pleasure of hosting, in its national premiere, the new work of the Canadian company Kidd Pivot entitled Assembly Hall, created by the choreographer Crystal Pite and the actor Jonathon Young, which includes among its numerous co-producers the Centro Servizi Culturali S. Chiara di Trento.
From the authors of the revolutionary and award-winning productions of Betroffenheit and Revisor, here is the latest proposal from the Canadian company Kidd Pivot: a dance theatre hybrid that explores the human need for community and belonging, between movement and language, humour and creativity. A work fuelled by the charm of history and the role of language as a force capable of animating. A successful show that The Guardian did not hesitate to call "simply and surprisingly wonderful".
The annual assembly of a medieval association meets in the hall of the town centre. It is up to the governing body to save the so-called "Quest Fest", given that the number of members is falling, debts are increasing and the town centre is dilapidated. If you do not take action as soon as possible, the association is likely to close. As the assembly proceeds, the boundary between reality and re-enactment blurs, ancestral forces are awakened, and it soon becomes apparent that there is much more at stake than the re-enactment of a medieval tournament.
The Kidd Pivot company is known for its hybrid approach, in which dance meets theatre and movement meets language, creating an unmistakable style that excites audiences around the world, and for the themes it addresses in its works, which are always relevant and relevant to society.
