Slurp! The mountain cheese
Guided tour for families with children in Val Jumela, to learn the secrets of the mountain cottage and of the animals that live here
Programme: an experience discovering a mountain farm, its animals and the secrets of making excellent cheese from freshly milked milk. Mrs Lucia of the Malga Jumela will accompany us to the cowshed to brush the cows and do some milking trials. Afterwards, it will be the hens' turn to collect fresh eggs to cook and enjoy together.
Time and meeting point: every Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Malga Jumela. The facility can be reached by an easy walk downhill from "Buffaure" in about 40 minutes (reachable by gondola; return uphill). Activity suitable for children of at least 5 years of age. Difficulty level: medium; no buggies. Comfortable clothing and sports shoes are recommended.
Activity cost: 5 euros. Booking required by calling +39 348 9301215 after 4 p.m. Ticket for the lifts and lunch at the mountain hut to be paid for by participants. Panorama Pass valid for the gondola. Activity cancelled in case of bad weather.
