Balcone panoramico sulle Dolomiti UNESCO
Created thanks to the efforts of the Paneveggio-Pale di San Martino Natural Park, this new panoramic point on the Dolomites ranges from the Lagorai chain to the Vette Feltrine.
The breathtaking view offered by this new panoramic point of the Dolomites ranges from the Lagorai chain to the Vette Feltrine, passing through the imposing Pale di San Martino group. The balcony can be reached on foot from the Tognola cable car arrival station in about 15 minutes, or by taking the Panzer trail in about 1.5 hours, starting from San Martino di Castrozza. The route to reach it, among other things, is a true historical find of mountain tourism: the visible ruins belong to the Tognola hut and the arrival station of the old toboggan run, built in 1937 by Herman Panzer. Shortly before the war, the service was suspended to be restarted by the Germans in 1943, with the intention of diverting their troops and then being abandoned.
