Canederli festival
Tasting of different kinds of "canederli" in the square "Piaz J.B. Massar" in Vigo, organised by the local brass band "Mùsega da Vich"
For gourmets, this is an opportunity to seize: in one evening, you can taste no fewer than four different versions of one of the most characteristic dishes of the Dolomites. "Piaz J.B. Massar" square is in fact transformed into a real open-air osteria. You pay at the cashier's desk, sit at a table to be shared with other guests, are served by the musicians of the "Mùsega da Vich" band, while the "Fimpfamusi" folk quintet liven up the party. What delicacies have the Vigo cooks prepared? Speck dumplings with "Masc Aloch" goulash, cheese dumplings with cabbage salad, red turnip dumplings with gorgonzola fondue, and, to end on a high note, sweet dumplings filled with apricots and strawberries. All accompanied by craft mountain beers.
For children, an amusing workshop to learn how to make "canederli", following the precious tips by the cook Daniele to then tell mom and dad: "I did it!" (enrolments at the tourist office in Vigo or directly at the cash desk; € 5).
Prices: 18 € for three plates of savoury dumplings; 8 € for a plate of sweet or savoury dumplings; 4.50 € for a craft beer. Tickets on sale at the cashier’s desk in the "Piaz J.B. Massar" square from 7 p.m. Aperitif from 7 p.m., dinner from 7.30 p.m.
