Sentiero Marciò
Extraordinary walk in the hearth of the Paneveggio forest
The Marciò Trail is a naturalistic route with illustrated observation points. The itinerary develops inside the forest of the Natural Park of Paneveggio, a large woodland covering a fan-shaped area of about 2,700 hectares in the upper Travignolo basin, among the Lagorai mountain chain, Pale di San Martino, and Cime di Bocche, at an altitude between 1.400 and 2.150m.
This easy route starts from the parking lot next to the Visitors Centre; along the circular route you will also find some explanation boards.
Once crossed the first covered bridge on the Travignolo stream, the trail winds through the forest. In the last part of the route there is a spectacular suspended bridge on the Travignolo stream, which flows through a narrow gorge forming rapids and waterfalls.
About a hundred meters from the Marciò Trail there is the wildlife area of the deer which hosts, in semi-natural conditions, some specimens of this magnificent animal.
The Marciò Trail is accessible all year long, with free admission.
