Dos Capèl Geotrail
A Time Travel through the Dolomites
The Dos Capèl Geotrail, conceived back in the 70s, is the first touristic-geological path ever realized in Italy. The trail starts in Passo Feudo, at 2200 m of altitude, and is a circular walk of 3,5 km with a height gain of 268m, which takes about 2 hours. It is a journey through time, not only space…but of course you need some imagination! Are you ready for this adventure?
The new look of the Dos Capèl Geotrail invites visitors to learn more about geology and the landscape around them. The 13 interactive stations along the trail explain everything about the Dolomites, UNESCO heritage, with the illustrations by the Portuguese artist Bernardo Carvalho and some simple explanatory texts. Each station is like a small outdoor workshop where you will have the chance to deepen your knowledge about this territory and its evolution, from ancient times to recent ones.
With the “Dos Capèl Geotrail, the Triassic World” gamebook and the geologist’s kit, children will have even more fun when walking along the trail.
Once back in Predazzo, stop at the Geological Museum of the Dolomites in order to complete your Geo day!
The Dos Capèl Geotrial can be reached from Predazzo by taking the cable car Latemar 2200. The Trail is accessible during the summer.
