Marcialonga Running Coop
Double challenge of 21 and 26 kilometres for the most eagerly awaited running event for the locals of Fiemme and Fassa and runners from across the border, along the track of the famous cross-country ski race
In both summer and winter, the Marcialonga is always a successful event with a large crowd at the edge of the track, with the route largely in common, such as the start in Moena and the finish in Cavalese. On Saturday 7 September, it is the turn of the Running Coop to close the triptych of Marcialonga events. The race format includes two different distances from which runners, at the start, can choose: the traditional 26 km route from Moena to Cavalese and the 21 km half marathon with arrival in Masi di Cavalese.
The special feature of the Running Coop is that it is also possible to participate as a team: groups of three people (male, female or mixed) can sign up for the relay race, choosing a non-profit charity to which they can donate part of their registration fee. The route is the same for everyone, but in this case it is divided into three fractions: 10 km from Moena to Predazzo, 8 km from Predazzo to Lago di Tesero and another 8 km from Lago di Tesero to Cavalese.
In past editions, the Kenyan athletes have dominated above all, while on the women's podium the Italian athletes dominate and in the relay race the teams from Northern Europe shine.
Programme and route. At 4.30 p.m. from the square "Piaz de Sotegrava", in the centre of Moena, the runners will set off in the direction of Forno, shortly reaching the jumping stadium in "Stalimen", the venue of the next Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. At the ninth kilometre, the runners will enter Predazzo and, from here, they will take the cycle-pedestrian track and pass through the characteristic villages of Ziano and Panchià, passing the cross-country centre of Lago di Tesero, also chosen for the Olympic competitions. In Masi di Cavalese, after 21 km, the half marathon will end, while those who opt for the 26 km will launch themselves towards the last 5 km uphill that connect the bottom of the valley to the arrival in the centre of Cavalese, where Miss Soreghina awaits the winners. The party continues with a pasta party, prize-giving and live music.
In Moena, runners and companions will find the Expo Village with music, old-fashioned games in giant format and entertainment for children. Cheering point in Forno di Moena (4.30-5.30 p.m.), in front of the "Reihnard" bar/bakery with DJ Robbiedax to cheer on the runners who, having passed Moena, continue their run towards Cavalese.
