Bau Beach in Ledro
After a walk, a refreshing swim
In 2011, the BIT - International Travel Exhibition gave Ledro a special acknowledgement as an Animal Friendly Municipality: in addition to hotel facilities that pay special attention to this issue, this territory has also created a Bau Beach (a beach for dogs) especially for our four-legged friends.
This place is the flagship of local pet friendly holidays. Located in the southern area of the lake, it is cordoned off so that dogs and owners can enjoy the sunshine and tranquillity, and celebrate summertime with a dip in the crystal clear waters.
For those who enjoy walking, it is possible to travel around the lake in both directions: those who park in Molina di Ledro and want to take a walk should follow the path around the lake in an anticlockwise direction; this way, the path curves somehow inward from the valley, allowing you to take an hour-long walk in a truly relaxing environment. On the other hand, those who only wish to reach the Bau Beach (by the way, the beach can also be reached directly by car), can park in Molina and follow the lakeside path in an anticlockwise direction: in about 15-20 minutes you will arrive at the beach, which is clearly signalled.
Along the shores of the lake there are dispensers to collect the dogs' faeces: the area is very clean, and keeping it clean is always appreciated.
