A dip in the Leno stream, not far from Rovereto
A refreshing tour in the green Val Terragnolo
Just twenty minutes by car from Rovereto, and you are in the heart of Val Terragnolo, as green as it is undeveloped: an ideal place to retrieve the mountain spirit of a bygone era. Following the signs for Terragnolo, from Rovereto you can follow the directions for Passo della Bòrcola, and then in the direction of the Austro-Hungarian cemetery of Geroli. After going down the hill, you reach the Pinterreno fountain, where you can park your car.
From here, you continue on foot, taking the path to Stedileri, and then down towards the bed of the stream, going first through a beautiful meadow and then through a beech forest. The best spot for a dip is the Moia del Zengio, marked by a wooden sign. The rocky bank is the ideal place to stop and eat a sandwich, dip your feet in the water, and watch your dog play in the crystal-clear water.
In the area, in the hamlets of Valduga, Stedileri, Piazza and Pedrazzi there are fountains to drink from. In Geroli, there is the former Austro-Hungarian cemetery. In Valduga, Dosso and Sega there are play areas, and in Piazza there are two bars. The so-called Masetto – that is the Maso San Giuseppe mountain farm - is also worth a visit, near the hamlet of Geroli. This is a historical building restored in the best possible manner, the setting of prestigious seminars and laboratories dedicated to the world of illustration. It also has a refreshment service open to the public, which also welcomes animals (booking appreciated, call 349 296 2189 or 328 934 3926).
