It is the most distinguished and well-known monument in the entire province, now home to the Provincial Museum of Art, a tangible sign of seven hundred years of Trentino history from the time of Frederick II of Swabia to the rule Austria and the First World War. In its present appearance it is a complex of buildings, the result of modifications and additions that have occurred over the centuries since the 13th.
