For downhill skiing the place to go is Bolbeno, near Tione di Trento, with its impressive snowmaking facilities composed of 14 cannons, it also boasts slopes and ski lifts that make it ideal for skiing courses and training runs.
For children there’s the Ski Camp and, even more importantly, Bolbenolandia, a winter play ground purposely built with younger users in mind.
The variety of slopes and numerous smaller valleys also offers a range of challenges for ski-mountaineers and snowshoeing enthusiasts.
The Valle di Daone, characterised by its abundant water and with two reservoirs, is one of the most renowned areas in Trentino for icefalls and frozen waterfalls that in mid-winter can become truly impressive natural masterpieces. The mid- to upper valley presents over 130 areas where quality icefalls consistently form and has become one of the main destinations for ice-climbing aficionados.
