Carzano
Roses and history, Carzano - where vacation is nature
This town is located on a sunny terraced slope at the northernmost boundary of the floodplains of Scurelle. Thanks to its geographical position, its climate is especially mild and ideal for cultivating fruit. One of the main features of this Medieval small town is the sheer explosion of blooming roses during the months of May and June. A visit to the park with its river, playgrounds and picnic areas is well worth the walk.
The town is renowned for the famous war episode known as Il sogno di Carzano (Carzano's Dream), in which the 72nd Battalion of Bersaglieri soldiers was defeated by the Austrian Army (preventing as such the Great War Italian troops from entering Valsugana and reach Trento). In memory of the battle, the parochial church Madonna della Neve was proclaimed National Monument.
