Rifugio Miralago
"When travelling from Moena to Falcade, you will see a small church. Turn left there..."
The restaurant ...
The core of Rifugio Miralago dates back to forty years ago. This historical local restaurant was expanded in 1972, before being refurbished in 1995, when it was equipped with an ample, comfortable kitchen. Rifugio Miralago is both a refuge and a hotel, as well as an excellent restaurant with one of the most beautiful views ever imaginable. The refuge is named after the Laghetto delle Pozze, which is found just a short distance away. Furthermore, the building is encircled by nature and surrounded by a thick wood. It has a main room that seats approximately fifty, while its smaller room seats sixteen. Both the rooms open onto the terrace, which is perfect for sunbathing as well as for enjoying a meal in the Pass's healthy air during the summer.
The restaurateur...
"When travelling from Moena to Falcade, you will see a small church. Turn left there..." Ivano Pellegrin gives all his guests these cheerfully detailed instructions to reach the refuge. His family - his father "Beppi zac", a renowned rock-climber, and his mother, Maria Sorauf, the current owner - has been eponymous with Rifugio Miralago for forty years now. Ivano, his mother, and his wife provide the warmth and welcome that only a refuge can offer, just like they have always done. Last but not least, the restaurant serves delicious homemade food. Its ricottas, butters and cheeses all come from farmhouses in the valley, while its bread, pasta, ravioli and tagliatelle are lovingly made by hand.
