Built in the early sixties by three priests who wanted to establish an Alpine refuge, Rifugio Fuciade was refurbished and expanded by Sergio Rossi in 1983. Together with his wife, Emanuela, he decided to build something special, and proceeded to do so down to the smallest detail. Traditional wood rooms, tiled heaters, and a fascinating collection of agricultural tools and old accordions are to thank for the Refuge's warm and welcoming atmosphere. The cellar is Sergio Rossi's pride and joy. It has been divided into a number of highly striking environments and boasts almost 300 labels, as well as numerous liquors. In summer, guests can also dine on the ample wood terrace and enjoy its wonderful views of Pale di San Martino.

Sergio is the heart and soul of Fuciade and boasts a long career as a restaurateur, both in the area and abroad. At the restaurant, he can count on the support of his wife, Emanuela. His three children, Martino - who is his right hand man in the kitchen - Manolo, and little Nicole all lend a hand at the restaurant as well. Rifugio Fuciade loves to surprise its guests with delicious local specialties made using traditional products from the area combined with others typical of Mediterranean cooking. The refuge uses natural, flavoursome ingredients, some of which are prepared personally by Sergio and Emanuela during the quieter months of the year.
