Rifugio Crucolo
A cheerful "indiscretion" with good cooking, music, dancing and singing
The restaurant ...
Crucolo is exactly halfway between a restaurant and a refuge, and provides the traditional affectionate welcome offered by mountain peoples. Its many rooms are always filled with cheerful diners, often happily celebrating their return from a hike. Small concerts and choir music can be enjoyed on the upper floor, where the Parampampoli - the age-old digestif with grappa from the area - makes them absolutely... unforgettable. Do not miss out on a visit to the restaurant's astonishing underground cellars, where an array of salamis hang from the walls and where cheeses produced by the refuge are stored, together with grappas, hams and cold cuts.
The restaurateur...
The history of Rifugio Crucolo is closely connected to the history of the Purin family. Each of the members of this ancient dynasty of restaurateurs is known as "l'Osti," a term in the local dialect that literally means "the host". Giordano, the father, is the head of the family. Known as Giorda to his friends, he welcomes guests to a place renowned for its cheer as well as for its good food. Here, he works side by side with his wife, children and numerous other family members. Tradition, culture and local foods are the secrets to the formula that have made Rifugio Crucolo the perfect place to meet new friends and have some good, old-fashioned fun. Good food, music, entertainment and "a few" Parampampoli are Crucolo's traditional recipe.
