VIOTE - LAGOLO

From Piana delle Viote, at the Three Peaks Nature Reserve and the peat bog, you will reach along the convenient trail 618 to Lagolo Lake.

We start from Piana delle Viote, where we can enter the Three Peaks Nature Reserve and the peat bog, one of the best-known wetlands in the Province of Trento, which is a splendid example of a flat peat bog in the Alps. From here we can enjoy beautiful views of the Brenta Group and the Three Peaks Integral Reserve (Cima Verde, Monte Cornetto and Doss d'Abramo). The landscape is gentle with wide pastures alternating with stretches of beech or larch forest. The botanical andfloristic is common to the entire Viote plain. It is possible to visit the Alpine Botanical Garden, where more than 1,000 different species of flowers and plants grow from the world's major mountain ranges. <p>Along the way we encounter the Stengiador Cavern and Spring.</p> <p>Lagolo Lake is nestled in the alpine landscape and is fed by several springs near the shore and by underwater seepage, easily detected during the winter frost that lasts from December to March. The basin is surrounded by meadows, fields, and coniferous and deciduous forests and is swimmable in the summer season.</p>
