The Path of Our History
An initiative of the Alpini of the Brentonico nucleus, which winds its way along the Italian-Austrian front line to rediscover 85 military sites and 16 places of scenic value
An itinerary along the Austrian and Italian military roads built before and during the Great War, a route that runs along the front line in the mountains surrounding the Brentonico Plateau.
It starts from the Piazzale delle Bandiere at Polsa, 1,240 metres, to reach the Selletta del Vignola and climb to the Cima, 1,607 metres, with a stupendous view of the Adige Valley and on clear days as far as Lake Garda.

We descend to the Selletta di Bocca d'Ardole, 1,391 metres. From here you take the tunnel road, where you can admire an important wall, a true work of art, supporting the military road built by 720 Italian military and middle-class workers. We then climb up to the Corno della Paura, 1,516 metres, and then descend past the cippus of the 1st Army of the Italian Army erected in 1916 in memory of that royal army. Finally, passing near the Malga Pra Vec di Sopra, we arrive at Malga Susine and the Piazzale delle Bandiere.
