The Tåntz Path – Tåntzstaige is an ancient path, which starts in the village of San Sebastiano and unwinds for about 2 kilometers through stunning woods, crystal-clear streams, and dry-stone walls towards Mt. Becco di Filadonna.

Becco di Filadonna. <p> </p> <p>TONZ – TÅNTZ – DANCE: A DANCING PLACE NAME</p> <p>Each community has got a place and a time dedicated to rituals. For instance, people used to celebrate the end of the haymaking period, the end of winter, the new year.</p> <p>Rain propitiatory rituals, in order to appease the spirits of the woods or the mountain goddess, would mark the everyday life. The ancient inhabitants of the mountains used to practice rituals and to dance; the legacy of such rituals echoes through modern times in the form of the Cimbrian toponym “Tåntz”, which translates to “Dance”.</p> <p> </p> <p>TECHNICAL FEATURES OF THE TRAIL</p> <p>The path, suitable for everyone, does not feature particular difficulties. About 2 kilometers long, it can be done all year round. Some sections unwinds in the woods, and there may be a few steep inclines at times. For this reason, proper clothing and trekking shoes are highly recommended.</p> <p> </p> <p>LAND ART ALONG THE PATH</p> <p>The works of art of the local artist Alessandro Pavone are placed along the path, accompanied by information panels written by anthropologist Michela Zucca and Andrea Nicolussi Golo, namely Head of the Cimbrian Language Counter of the Magnificent Community of the Cimbrian Plateau.</p> <p> </p> <p>A TRIBUTE TO WOMEN</p> <p>The Tåntz Path is a tribute to those women who created life and took care of nature. Women, eremites, divine figures who had power on life and death, by virtue of their deep knowledge of the secrets of nature.</p> <p> </p> <p>The project “Tåntz Path” was carried out by the Youth Group of San Sebastiano, supported by the Piano Giovani degli Altipiani Cimbri, the Municipality of Folgaria, the Tourist Board Alpe Cimbra, the Caritro Foundation, the Proloco Nosellari Oltresommo, the Hunters Section of Folgaria, and all volunteers who worked for its enhancement.</p>
