Sul monte Cornetto - Hornberg

Monte Cornetto, the mountain of Folgaria, Hornberg in the ancient German-speaking language, over 2000 m above sea level. Up there, this excursion takes us to 1650 m, to the characteristic little church of S. Vigilio, from which there is a priceless panorama over the deep valley of the Rio Gola, the Adige Valley and the most beautiful peaks of the Basso Trentino.

The various peaks of Monte Cornetto lend themselves to various routes and route variations that can take us beyond 2000 m, to the exciting views of Bècco di Filadonna, the eastern part of the Alpe Cimbra and the valleys that open up in the lower reaches, Valsugana and the lakes of Caldonazzo and Levico in primis. We leave it up to the hiker to venture out onto the peaks, after having cautiously assessed the consistency of the snowpack. The route we present takes place on the safe and easy forest road that leads from the Sommo pass (1343 m) to the Paradiso locality, where the spruce forest cover ends and the high mountain pastureland begins, framed by dense expanses of mountain pine.
