San Pellegrino - San Pellegrino Bike Trail
It’s one of the most interesting loops of San Pellegrino Bike Trail, that runs at the foot of Costabella’s ridge, from Baita Paradiso refuge to Fuciade.
You pedal along a heterogeneous route, frequented by hikers as well, thereby it’s recommended to reduce your speed. From the pass, take Costabella chairlift. From the mountain station, you immediately get onto the dirt road (bumpy and rocky), which runs fast towards Baita Paradiso refuge. Once passed the hut, you’ll face a steep slope and then climb up again on the opposite side (resort of Pont > Val de San Tomas), follow the Italian military mule track that cuts diagonally throughout the green Val Tegnosa and then reconnects with Fuciade’s road (resort of La Regòla). Watch out for grazing animals! After reaching the refuge, proceed on the rut. Leave on your left the crossroads to Forca Rossa (trail sign no. 670) and run along Prà Gran. The road narrows into a path and descends through the pastures ‘till ending up on the dirt road that leads to Valfredda. Get onto the paved road and return to the pass, in the last stretch climbing up the state road.
Variants to avoid using the chairlift: 1) follow the dirt road that, starting from behind Hotel San Marco, clambers up to the resort of Pont. 2) from the valley station of Gigante chairlift (closed in the summer) you reach Chalet Cima Uomo and then turn left and climb up Val de San Tomas.

You can easily reach San Pellegrino Bike Trail by lift from San Pellegrino Pass (Col Margherita) or Falcade. The access is included in the bike pass or in the Dolomiti Supersummer ticket, which allows access to a wider resort. Inside the park you will find trails of varying difficulty. If it’s your first time here, we recommend turning to bike guide.
