San Martino - Caoria (Valsorda)

Comfortable and classic ski mountaineering, which after an initial uphill stretch allows a comfortable and solitary descent down the Valsorda

The proposed itinerary (which may require recovery at the end of the hike) starts from the forecourt of the Tognola ski lifts. After a first section alongside the ski slopes and having reached Malga Fratazza, it initially follows the forest road to Alpe Tognola before taking a trail entirely in the woods, which runs parallel to the Uno ski slope. Having reached Alpe Tognola, the trail follows the ridges above the ski slopes until reaching Cima Tognola. Before reaching the peak, and after the similarly-named ski lift, the descent towards Valsorda begins, where the initial stretch is served by well-trodden trails before plunging into Val Tognola, passing Busa della Scandola Bassa and the Laresi di Tognola in rapid succession, and then joining the Valsorda forest road (in the Vanoi valley).

From here, the route follows the forest road all the way to the Ponte Stel bridge before heading towards the town of Caoria, the finishing point.
